NewGrounds is an annual concert dedicated to the development of emerging and young professional choreographic voices.
The event provides dance artists the opportunity to present their work in a professional environment, as professional choreographers. The diversity in the artists and their work ranges from emerging choreographers at the collegiate level to young professionals in the dance world to established choreographers looking for a place to experiment in a new dance vocabulary. Past programs have presented modern dance, dance theater, jazz, dance for camera/film, contemporary ballet, aerial dance and cross-culture fusions in dance.

It began in 2001 and continues to grow in scope and reputation, while year after year, exciting, talented dance artists continue to share their work together on the NewGrounds stage.How do I become part of NewGrounds?
- Download and complete the NewGrounds Application.
- Mail your application and a Video/DVD copy of the proposed work.
- A panel of dance artists will review the applicants’ work.
- Moving Current will then notify choreographers of the results.
